Carry on friendly toiletries beauty products lush store

Lush has such a great line of products that are perfect for travelling. Ethically made, eco-friendly products always have my support and bonus- it all smells great! If they had a Lush store closer to me (and not in our crazy busy mall) I would shop there more often. In my quest to pack for a summer abroad only in a carry on, that meant that my usual collection of hair and skin liquids were not all going to make the cut. So I stopped by my local Lush store (in that crazy busy mall) to see what they had. Here’s my review of some Lush products that took on my travel busy summer.

Perfect for Carry On Traveling

Beauty Items packed for 2 months across the globe

First of all, this store was made for you to reduce the amount of liquid products you need. There are so many options for everyone, depending on what you need. I picked up a shampoo bar, conditioner bar, powder toothpaste, mouthwash tablets and dry shampoo. Be sure to grab the metal tins for the shampoo and conditioner so they can travel with you easily and not wash away in the shower. I was hesitant about buying shampoo and conditioner, since hotels always have both. But now that I’ve travelled through Europe a bit, I’m glad I packed both. Not all my hotels have had shampoo and conditioner. Most only have a body wash available. So having my own was necessary. Definitely stop by a store if you are carry on traveling for vacation as Lush has several non-liquid options for your travels.

Lush Products I loved

The shampoo bar is amazing! It lathers easily, smells great (there are lots of varieties) and cleans my fine hair really well. The toothpaste has been a perfect travel companion too. The strawberry flavor is very light. (this product isn’t on the website, so not sure if all stores have it). They also had toothpaste tabs available that the associate said were really popular (those are available in order minty flavors). The powder is easy to use- lathers up quick and has left my teeth feeling squeaky clean. The mouthwash tabs work to give you minty breath. Plus these can be in your purse to help out after a garlicky meal. Just sip of water, bite the tab and swish around. Overall, I’d purchase all of these items again, even if I’m not travelling. Bonus: less waste from using these products on the regular.

Lush Products that are just ‘Meh”

The conditioner bar. I wanted to love this- my hair needs a good conditioner. It doesn’t lather- which is to be expected with a conditioner. But it was difficult to get product off the bar. I would hold a handful of hair and rub the bar directly on it. This bar is better than nothing and I am still glad I packed it. Their dry shampoo is a powder and comes with a lot! I prefer a spray, but this works great for what I need and doesn’t add to my liquids toiletries bag. It has grapefruit and lime in the powder, so it helps absorb oil and give a fresh scent. Since there is so much powder in the bottle, it’s definitely gonna last me a few long vacations.

There you have it- my short review of the few Lush products I packed for a summer of travel. I might start ordering some of their products I loved online, to avoid the mall. I’m always trying to reduce my eco footprint, and Lush is one way to work towards that. Besides less packaging, you can take back your plastic containers to have them recycled. What Lush products do you love and reccomend to us? Tell us in the comments!
